What are you favorite children's books? Which books do you find yourself having to read to your kids everyday? Thought it might be fun to get some ideas for moms looking to buy books to read their babes

I wish I had started reading with my daughter earlier; she has just started really getting into it and wanting 6 stories read to her before bed We started a lot younger with my son and he really got into it fast.

My 31/2 year old dd loves The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. My ds loves any board books with simple pictures that he can point at and say the word after me.

My dd still loves Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. I started reading that to her while she was in the womb. And Guess How Much I Love You!

She loves Hop on Pop (Dr. Seuss), Any Miss Spider Book by David Kirk.

We regularly get books from the library so I get a variety. But we also read 6 or more daily...

we have tons of Boynton books! Their favorite right now is Doggies.

Also they love (and these were big hits when they were babies, too) the That's Not books

That's Not My Dolly
That's Not My Puppy
That's Not My Bunny
etc

They are by Fiona Watt

The pages have fur or bumps or things like that on them to touch, too, which they really love.

"Cars, Trucks and things that go" by Richard Scarry.

Absoulte alltime favorite. He looks for the "goldbug" that is hiding on each page...he'll spend 20 minutes on that book alone!

MANY others..."brown bear brown bear", "Go Dog Go" to name a couple.

I'll have to go look at their bookshelf for the titles.

I know that Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle is way high on the list though. My 3 yr old "reads" it to my 2 year old all the time.

There's another one called Big Bulldozer that he's also memorized and "reads" to us.
They like Runaway Bunny too.
