Does anyone have any experience or traditions involving yule logs? We don't have a wood-burning fireplace, alas, but I love these pictures of candle-lit yule logs I've seen recently. thanks!

we are doing one this year. we have a chiminea in the yard and are having a solstice party on the eve of the solstice so will burn the log then. we don't have a huge one, but it's big enough and solid oak..

the girls and i are going to decorate it for the party...

i'm new to this tradition so am anxious to hear other's thoughts, traditions, etc..
