zinc oxide POWDER

647 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  KayleeZoo
My son has a diaper rash and we were using a&d cream w/ disposable liners in my diapers to prevent stains. I just got my new wonderoos in the mail today and they say to use zinc oxide powder. I never knew there was such a thing.
Anyone else use it or know where I can find some?

We have used Caldesene zinc oxide/talc powder for years on little diapered bums and it works great! I buy it at Walgreens drugstore. HTH!
No affliation, but here is a link to a webstore selling some:

Johnson's Medicated Powder.

It's zinc oxide & cornstarch.
Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, etc should carry it

Is it true or a false that your shouldnt used cornstarch on a yeast diaper rash?
Someone once told me that yeast will feed off of it(cornstarch)..but i never know who / what to believe anymore.... ykwim?
I would think that the Johnson's would be better since it is cornstarch instead of talc. But is it safe for the zinc oxide to become airborne?
I don't let the powder fly. I just put a little in the palm of my hand and dab onto baby's bottom from there. I haven't had any problems with airborne or with yeast.

That's been my experience, too
