Has anyone every repurposed a bar of soap or laundry bar soap - melted or grated one and reformed the bars - or started with raw ingredients to make a laundry bar soap that has the washing soda or borax already inside?
I live way out in the middle of Arizona desert nowhere and am going to be caretaking about 20-30 people doing a three year Buddhist retreat. They will be in solitude in individual cabins and I am developing products and resources for limited trash removal and ease of use and storage.
I thought a bar soap which covers all their laundry needs in one small "package" could be beneficial with no bottles to dispose of (even recycling creates a large carbon footprint & who wants to lug full and empty containers through the desert to the cabins or for "trash" pickup).
Any recipes or sources out there for a complete laundry bar?
I have also posted this in off-grid living.
