Everyone I know has gotten the vaccine. I haven't seen/heard of a case in the East Bay for a few years.

 

I knew some people who had it a couple of months ago, but at the time we were fighting a cold so we didn't go to the pox party. So it's been around, just not right now. The family who had it lives in Berkeley by the way, and are in a local unschooling group.

 

If you hear of any in Southern California we have a large group of families actively looking!

 

I found chicken pox!! My nephew has it! Problem is, he's out if state. How do I make this work? If my sister sends me something won't the bacteria die while in transit? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to successfully get the pox this way? The timing is terrible, my kids have been on Christmas break for the last 3 weeks and are going back to school tomorrow. I can't believe it but am so glad I finally found the pox. Now to figure out how to get them......

Just keep in mind it is illegal to us the mail to "ship" a virus. Additionally, I have never heard of it working.

 

Hi I just joined. We are looking for the chicken pox too. Sooner than later because I have a five year old starting kindergarten in the fall and I'd love for him to have it before then. Anyone have it near the SF bay? we are willing to travel.

I have a child entering Kindergarten in the fall and need to expose her to CP before then. I live in Berkeley. I've been searching.There is no 'visible' presence for communities out there seeking to do the same. I am very frustrated. Any information you can give me would be appreciated. Thank you.

 

I believe there is a slow and no vax group on Yahoo that has reported cases of CP in Sunnyvale. I'm not a member so I haven't read it personally.
