glow-toys safe in bathtub?

Hi, this may sound like a dumb question, but my girls are really wanting to take a bath with these glow-in-the-dark little men that they bought from the quarter-machines at the store.

I'm guessing it's probably safe -- glow-in-dark doesn't have anything to do with electricity, right? (okay, not I'm really showing my ignorance!).

Anyhow, some quick input would be greatly appreciated ... they're waiting here for the verdict ...

the glow toys are perfectly safe in the water. they have nothing to do with electricity.

That's what I finally concluded! I couldn't find an actual answer, but I did find a recipe for making your own glow-in-the-dark liquid, and saw it had nothing to do with electricity. So they've had their bath now. Thanks!

Wow! I think my dh and both dd's would be highly-interested in making our own glow-in-the-dark liquid, and in learning about the whole process.

Oh, man, that's scary! I'll have to google again for the signs of lead-poisoning. I used to worry about this a lot because we have an older home, and our youngest used to eat lots of dirt as a young toddler playing outdoors.

Our older dd had normal lead-levels when she was tested at around 2 or 3, but we gave up on getting our younger dd tested, after our doctor's office took 3 samples, and all three were insufficient for results, and dd got traumatized by all the finger-sticks.

So I just checked the symptoms and figured she didn't have them, so I quit worrying about it. I'll go google it now, to re-check and ease my mind ...

Just decided to let you guys know -- I don't know what symptom-list I read previously that set my mind at rest about the lead issue, but what I found last night was that there often are no symptoms.

So we're getting dd2 tested again -- not at the same office where they failed 3x (after the 2nd failure, they told me they'd discovered they had a batch of defective paper and had corrected the failure, which was why I let them do it a 3rd time).

This time we're going to the lab of our local children's hospital.
