OK, so my DP is pregnant with twins, and will be returning to work (9hr days) when they are 12 weeks old. So we need a REALLY GOOD pump, lol. Something that will be effective, quick (as much as possible) and will last for a year or more, pumping for twins. Her job allows her the schedule flexibility to pump as needed, but locations will be challenging, and she may not always have an outlet, so something that can work off batteries would be awesome. Budget is a consideration, but it's not going to be worth it to buy a cheap one then need another one down the road. She can keep it at her desk so size is not a huge factor. When I was looking a few years ago everyone recommended the Medela Pump in Style, but I've seen lots of new ones in the last few years, so I'm wondering what's good/best now!
Also, I'll be working to bring my own supply back up to useful levels (I have a 2.5yo nursling, but my supply has dipped she nurses less, of course), so we may purchase a second pump for me to use part time at home to keep supply up on days we're both home, etc. I'd be looking for something less expensive for home use, we really can't afford two $200 pumps!
And a third question - how did you transport/store breastmilk if you pumped at work? I see a lot of systems and am totally overwhelmed!
