Isn't it kind of early for these?? I'm not even sure if that's what it was, but every once in a while, I'll feel a tightness in my abdomen during nursing. It's not every time. Should I be worrying or is this normal? I have no prior risk of preterm labor, if that means anything.

I just recently nursed through a pregnancy and I remember having BH pretty consistently. My miwife assured me that this was no more risky than nipple stimulation during sex when pregnant...which there have been no reported links between nursing/pregnant and pre-term labour. My babe ended up making his grand-entrance an entire 13.99 days late...

In case your wondering, my toddler nursed all day long when I was pregnant, so I wouldn't say that the amount of nursings or the duration would affect the "risks" either.
Best of Luck to your soon-to-be Tandem Couple

I still nurse my 19m 1-2 times a day and I have them off and on all day and night long

I did last pg as well. It's pretty normal...I think my uterus was big enough to notice them at about 15-16 weeks.

you should be fine.

I think most mama's in the 2nd or more preg get them earlier (whether they are nursing or not). This is my 3rd nursing preg and BH's are just part of it. I think it's more noticeable when your nursing because you are sitting still, quiet, and can focus more on your body (unless your nursling chooses to be superactive at that point).
Just make sure you are getting enough water to drink so you don't dehydrate.

I nursed my 2 1/2 year old throughout my pregnancy with my second one, and I had 5 weeks of heavy bleeding during that pregnancy(absolutely unrelated to the nursing, but my point was it still didn't make me miscarry!) It all resolved. I think nursing (nipple stimulation) brings on contractions if you are due, is my memory of the web search I did!
Btw I nursed all day long!!!

I am not nursing any more, but have started BH about 2-3 weeks ago. With #3, I started them at 4 months. Didn't have any BH with #4. So, I am not surprised that mine started even earlier with this one. And yes, nipple stimulation (including nursing) triggers BH. That's also why a breastfeeding Mama's uterus returns to normal size much quicker than a bottlefeeding Mama.

I believe that lots of BH ctx make for an easier labour. So, I am happy, happy, happy that I am having them already this time!

I hope this is true because I'm in my first pregnancy and have had them since 16 weeks. I first noticed after orgasm. And didn't realise what they were till I had an ultrasound and had one on the table. The tech told me what it was. Now I can feel them come on. I have about 3-4 a day.
