My Kozy is going to the seamstress and I have to decide if I want a pocket or not. Originally I didn't think I needed or wanted one. I would like to hear from those of you who:

1) Have a pocket and love it.

2) Have a pocket and don't use it.

3) Don't have a pocket and wish you did.

4) Don't have a pocket and don't miss it.

Tell me whether I should get the pocket or not and why you feel that way.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!

I had a Kozy with a pocket but I never used the pocket. 1) I was worried that sitting up against anything I put in it would be uncomfy for baby. 2) Once I had the mei tai on I couldn't reach the pocket anyway (if you wear it on your back) so what use was it too me??

I now have a Kozy without a pocket and I don't miss the pocket one bit.

This is just my opinion though

Well I don't have a Kozy but I would get the pocket. I find where to put stuff to be a pain, esp when wearing babe on my back. We have a Babytrekker with a pocket, that my baby's papa usually uses, but whenever I use it I put lots of stuff in the pocket (diaper, $, anything soft). Then the bag I carry doesn't have to be as heavy, or I can get away without carrying a bag if it's a short trip.

I say a pocket can't hurt.

I have Kozys with pockets and without pockets. I just received two with pockets, and if I'm carrying DS in the front, I know I'll use the pocket as I do the pocket on my Hug-a-Bub. I usually put items that I don't think bothers him such as my shopping list, credit card, cash, DS' pacifier, or a diaper. It's great for those times when you don't have pockets on your clothes or don't feel like carrying a bag. One of mine has a key loop inside the pocket that I can bring out so that I can hang my keys on it outside of the pocket. I think I'm going to have a key loop put in the other as it's really quite handy.

I usually only do back carries in the house with my 4 month old, but if I was doing back carries all the time with an older child, then I wouldn't get a pocket for the function. I may get a pocket just because I like the look of it.

O.k. My only other question is: "Can you wear the kozy reversed if you have a pocket on it?" I'm not so worried about the pocket being next to baby, but does the stitching show through or is it in the middle layers of fabric? If my outfit doesn't match the fabric on the "front", I might like to reverse to the black.

I actually had to look at mine to check. On the canvas Kozy, the stitching of the pocket does show on the reverse side, but the stitching from sewing in the straps also shows. Black thread is used on the black canvas, and the sewing is impeccable that the stitching doesn't look out of place there.

On my silk Kozy, I have a pocket on one side and all silk on the other, and the stitching of the pocket does not show through. I'm not sure if they will do this with the canvas Kozys.

Didn't get a pocket on my first one because my son was already a toddler and up and down a lot. I probably would have used it on walks but sometimes even then he wanted to get down, so I couldn't carry stuff in the pocket knowing I'd then have to either take the carrier off and stuff it somewhere or tie it around my waist (almost too bulky to do that anyway, even without anything in a pocket).

I just got a second Kozy for my newborn-to-be, and did get a pocket. The pocket is nice and big and can hold a lot of stuff. I know I will use it plenty with a little baby who will be carried most of the time. I am a minimalist and tend to carry the smallest purse (or none) possible, so I love pockets, used my ring sling pockets all the time when ds was smaller. I also used an Ergo a lot when ds was <1 year and used the pocket in that all the time. The Ergo is made of canvas, just like the Kozy, and the body is just slightly thicker than the Kozy, the pockets seem similar, and my baby didn't seem to be bothered at all by keys and stuff in the pocket.
