we recently started trying to swaddle ds at night again. he's 10 weeks, but seems to need that cuddled-up feeling; he naps best in the KK pouch sling. the problem is that our receiving blankets are too small! he's 23" and at least 12 pounds. any suggestions?

We use the swaddle sleep sacks too. And they have them in organic cotton if that's your preference. My DS (5 mo now) is very long and strong and could squirm his way out of any swaddle blanket. Plus the sacks allow their legs to flop open (frog-like) which is very important for proper hip growth. Blankets tend to keep legs together. Not so great for all night long.

My 7 month old is still swaddled. I can't remember how long we swaddled ds#1, but at least this long. And, they were/are big boys. My 7 month old is 20 pounds.

I like a blanket that is 30x40. If I don't have that size, I use two smaller blankets. If you lay out the blankets diamond style, with the point on the top, you overlap both blankets to match at the top. Then fan out the sides to make a bigger blanket. It works pretty well.

I love those too because they are so big. We used them for my daughter until she was about 6 months and no longer wanted to be swaddled. Unfortunately, my 4 month old son is almost 20 pounds, so I don't know how much longer they will hold him. I might have to use a twin sheet for him.
