Saw the pediatrician today and explained that the school said they would test for LDs, but not for dyslexia. He said that they don't do it either and we may have to pay someone else to do it, but he couldn't tell me who!

He told me in the meeting tomorrow I should just tell them I have no idea what her LD might be, but we need her tested. He thinks they might find dyslexia or they might not, but if they specifically don't test for it, WTF? I felt like I spent 1/2 hour with the mad hatter.
This is so annoying and frustrating. It sounds to me like the people at the school will test for everything else, but if dyslexia is her problem are they going to tell me she is 'fine?'
He told me we could talk to our counselor when we see him, and he gave us a referral to another psychologist who might be able to help, so I guess it wasn't a total loss, but I would really like to get just one straight answer from someone.......anyone.
