I was 12 weeks pregnant when I had my first miscarriage. I had a d & c. The doc said to wait two periods to start trying again. It tooks us 2 periods to get pregnant again. I then lost that baby at 7 weeks. My HCG levels just got back down to normal, so here we try again. Hopefully we get pregnant soon, we really want another (have a 12 month old)

I didn't have a D & C either and lost my baby at about 11 weeks. We waited a long time to try as I just wasn't ready to try again. I would think I was and then I wasn't. I'm glad I waited, for me it was the right thing. But everyone is different.

It's been over 3 years and we still haven't gotten pg, but we haven't tried the whole time. Other things going on too.

Mommy4life, A warm and gentle welcome to Mothering. I'm so sorry about your loss. Your very fresh in your greif now.

I remember when I had my first miscarriage, I was like you. I didn't want to replace the baby I had lost, but I was on 'mission pregnancy'. I just longed for a baby in my arms. I think what your feeling is very normal.

Talk to your midwife or doctor. Most will say about 3 months for the body to heal and your hormone levels to regulate. But, everyone is different.

Please remember to care for yourself at this time. Your body has been through a great deal.

Again, welcome to Mothering.

Sorry you have to be here but welcome. Our loss was 6/14 to a D&C, we may have already gotten PG (3 days late and I did Ovulate on time) My midwife said that the only reason they suggest waiting is so that they can accurately date a new pregnancy. This was good for us to hear since it was totally by accident that we mgiht have gotten that way already. I knwo at least 5 other women that have gotten PG within 2 months of a loss (one ofthem 20 days after her lat loss) and have delivered healthy and uncomplicated. I wish you much love and good luck!

Hello,
My first pregnancy I miscarried when I was 14 weeks. I had a d&c. I waited 3 months and was pregnant again. I had a daughter 9 months later with no problems.
I had an ectopic pregnancy 4 years ago. I was 5 weeks pregnant. I lost my one of my tubes because of it. It has taken me 4 years to get pregnant (because of other health problems), but I am not 13 weeks pregnant.

Our DS #1 was born still (full term)on 10/23/98. His brother (and spirit child, I truly believe) was born 10/25/99. I think it was 3 cycles between birth and pregnancy.

We had a m/c last May and were pregnant again the end of July - two cycles, I think, and DS #2 is now 12 weeks old! Blessed be.

It is so different for everyone. Make love with joy and abandon, put out a "welcome" sign for another spirit and hopefully what is meant to be, and when, will be.
