About to switch 21mo DD to cloth... feel like I missed the boat :(

I was always curious about cloth diapering when I became pregnant with my DD but was very overwhelmed with BF'ing at the time and once I had that down (nursed for 18mo), I really didn't have time to research, etc (overwhelmed, F/T WOHM...lol). I'm currently on disability for the next 2 months while I wait for my next DD to be born and I started doing some research on CD'ing - and now I'm shocked to find out about all of the chemicals and carcinogens in sposies. After doing my research, I'm definitely going to CD both my 21mo and the newborn, but I somehow feel like I cheated my 21mo DD out of cloth because we've been doing sposies for so long...

Besides being environmentally beneficial, is there still some benefit to changing to cloth for an almost 2 year old? I'm doing it regardless, but wanted to hear any positive feedback you all might have about the idea... Thanks so much...

get her some dipes that can be pulled up and down and use them as trainers. if she wears something that allows her to feel wetness, she may train a little quicker. depending on her size you may be able to put a one size dipe on her that you could use on dd1 and the new baby once its out of the newborn stage.

I'm about to take the plunge into cloth diapering with my 22 month old so I know how you feel. I think I'm going to be kicking myself for not doing it sooner, but better late than never right?? I went to a cloth diaper info class last night and came home with two cloth diapers. I'm going to try them out at home for a little while before I buy a ton or approach daycare about it. I have heard that cloth can make potty training easier so I think this is as good a time as any to switch from disposable to cloth.

Unfortunately my son is really big (almost 3' and over 30lbs) so I don't think I'll be able to do use a one size. Would be nice though since I'll hopefully be having at least one more baby in the future and if all works out well will cloth diaper them from the beginning.
