I have a bacterial infection and the doctor prescribed Metronidazole. It just occured to me (after taking one pill already) that this may not be safe for breastfeeding. Does anyone have any information on this drug. I know it's a class B but other than that I don't have any idea.

hmmmm, I wish I could help you with specifics. But...if your doctor knows you're BF then I would assume its safe to think that he would've prescibed you a BF friendly drug?? When I had to have antibiotocs, I was prescribed Keflex...maybe that could be an option for you, depending on the illness its treating.
Call your docs office right away and ask them.....maybe don't take anymore until you know for sure.

Also, FYI, antibiotics can increase the incidence of thrush/yeast. Keep and eye out.

God Luck
