Our local Head Start takes donations of both little nap pillows and blankets. The local nursing homes and adult day cares take donations of lap robes, adult sized bibs and shawls. Our Area Agency for the Aging (it might be called Senior Services) takes donations of material to make walker bags, or they will supply the directions and velcro to make them yourself to donate the finished product.

Or you could swap it or something you made from it in the trading post on one of the craft swaps. I think you might need 500 posts for that though

OR if you DID make diapers out of the flannel and know how to make dipes...you could make diapers out of it for the diaper drive that miracle diapers does, I think, twice a year.

They provide cloth diapers to needy families for free. THey send enough to completely diaper the child in need, free of charge, only asking for the family to pay to ship them back. When they need the next size up they get that shipment, and ship the first size back. Done. It really helps a lot of people and keeps the world a little greener, too. They will take whatever kind of diapers you know how to make, from flats to prefolds, fitteds, contours, covers, to pockets or AIO's.

Oh, Project Linus looks great!

My personal favorite is www.projectnightnight.org

The blankets go to homeless children.>>>>>

im curious about this one, I may be understanding it wrong, but I have to buy a bag for $3.50 then bag up my blankets then send them?

I like this idea for homeless children , although I dont have $3.50 for each blanket I make to spend on top of shipping.

Actually with Project Night Night, bags are put together to include three things. A book, a blanket and a stuffed animal. Sometimes ppl do their own personal drives. I did one once and put 70 bags together. Everything was donated, including some money which is what I used to buy the bags that say Project Night Night.
But the actual organization collects donations themselves and puts bags together and then decides who to give them to, like what shelters. So you can just make blankets (they love homemade blankets in fact) and send them as many as you feel like. You don't have to do anything else.
