I am looking through the masses of strollers available (online) and it is overwhelming. I have looked a t a few stores also.

I am looking for something light weight- for example I like the basic cosco lightweight type for one, except most of those strollers have ridiculously low handles! I don't get it!
I also looked at the cynthia rowley stroller- which I tried out in a store and liked that it had normal feeling heighted handles. It looks ok but the harness in the front looks so bulky I think it would be uncomfortable.
Any good strollers that have nice high handles, I odn't mean extrat high- I am only 5 ft 4, but the lightweight ones I have tried are so short I ave to hunch over and I kick the rail when I walk!) a good sun shade, but are also pretty simple and easy to fold and lightweight?
Thanks!

I have a Baby Jogger City Mini that I love, love, love! It is not short It is super easy to fold and unfold (one handed) and is light enough that I can carry it while carrying my 1yr old in the other hand. Plus the sunshade is truly useful...not jsut for show.

i babywear a lot so my strollers have very specific uses. just got the baby jogger city mini double & LOVE it! this is our exercise stroller. best damn sunshade i've ever seen!!!! so ez to fold, so light for a double. nice handle & i can push it w/ 1 hand if needed. i imagine their single is amazing.

in terms of a light weight single, we have been very happy w/ our maclaren. it's sunshade seems to give more cover than others i see out & about. it's what we bring into the city on the train or to the mall if im going to be trying on clothes & not wearing dd2. it is high end but it combines comfort for the child, comfort for me w/ lightness & sturdiness. i've had to throw that thing up the steps of the elevated train while wearing dd & it not only was doable for me, but it also has withstood it many times. and carrying it up the subway steps has been easy while still being a stroller my lo would sit in all day if need be.

We have a Maclaren I really love. We got it for about $100 at Target and it's just right--collapses easily when needed and has a shoulder strap and weighs only 8 lbs, so we can tote it when necessary. I don't know the model, but it's made out of a kind of meshy stuff so when it gets grimy I can just hose it off. We have a fancy (meaning expensive) Graco travel system whatsit for the tiny baby stage, but I hate it compared to my minimalist Maclaren.

We have the chicco lightweight. the handles are a good height (i'm 5'4")

I used the Chicco umbrella stroller (maybe have been the capri) for my son (when he was 1+) and loved the ease of it. And he thought it was comfy.

When we were looking for a stroller for our new baby, we also went w/ the Chicco...but its a different model, the Liteway - has a full recline seat, meant for a baby.

I totally recommend Chicco.

We had narrowed it down to a graco mosaic (this was quite practical and lightweight as well)

I got the first years indigo stroller and think it is amazing for the price-now $136 at amazon. It is lightweight, good-looking and baby and parent friendly with a handlebar high enough for me at 6' and dh at 6'2". the wheels are a bit squeaky after being checked on multiple flights but i bought because was the best value stroller i could find that is both front and rear-facing. it is super easy to put together and adjust but for folding, you collapse the frame after removing the seat- so its 2 pieces. good luck figuring it all out!

I have a Britax Blink that I really like, it's similiar to the Maclarens but a bit less money.

The Baby Jogger City Micro (stripped down version of the City Mini) is on sale at Albeebaby for $99 right now, it looks really nice and they fold really easily.

We have a Joovy Kooper in lemon yellow and like it a lot. The sunshade is huge, and the recline goes back almost flat. I don't love the locking mechanism, but to me, that's a small thing. The padding on the seat back is nice. It's a mix between a full stroller and an umbrella, kind of the best of both worlds.

adjustable handles sound nice. I think all strollers should have that. I love thos cheapy little cosco stroller I got but for the short handles. i treied duck taping on some stuff to add height and it sort of works.

I tried the Maclaren volo in a store and found the way the handles were angled to be v uncomfortable.
which maclarens do you like that have normal handles? I will look up all these suggestions-thanks and keep them coming.

Okay- so the MAclarens look good BUT what is up with those weirdly positioned handles? I tried one out 2 babies r us and I found it so uncomfortable. I know they must be designed to supposedly increase comfort but it felt like I had to twist my hands and arms into an awkward position to grip them!
Are htere any of these nice light weight maclarens that either have the normal facing handle bars or ones that can adjust to the normal one?

i have the quest sport. it has the handles you are talking about but i find them to be comfy.

i am only 5 ft or so & the height works for me too.

strollers are tough-so many & it comes down to trying to get a few of the things that matter most to you in 1 stroller. plus, what u think might matter at 1st, could change over time.

I love our MacLaren Triumph! I thought the Macs were a bit $ for a lightweight stroller, but found mine on craigslist. I keep it in the trunk of the car, its so easy to open and close. I'm about 5'5". .. I don't have any issues with the handles, height or angle. The things I miss are a cup holder and the ability to recline the stroller, but I think that is the norm for light strollers.

i love my cheapy wal-mart in-step jogging stroller. it was $130 and it steers really nicely and gets through snow and everything. i couldn't survive without it, since i walk everywhere. i'm not sure that's the type you're asking about-you might be referring to an umbrella stroller (as my mom calls them), which are ALWAYS too short!! i agree! my 1.5 yo is way too big for those.
