Does it matter?

Does the temperature in the room matter when it comes to temping? I started mid cycle, just to get a routine down, and I didn't think it would at first, but now I'm starting to wonder. I check around 530-545.

We sleep with the window open, and it gets chilly in our room, but the temps outside are only about 58 at night. I noticed the night before last I kept waking up without my covers fully on. With my leg sticking out, and it not fully covering my side My temp was 96.45. Last night, this didn't happen. But, at around 4am, I woke up and had to get a glass of cold water. I was awake for maybe 5 minutes. I went back to bed for 2 hours, and checked...97.52. I've been sleeping rough, and waking up a lot lately too. This weekend I got hardly any sleep. I was going to bed well after 12, one night around 3 even, and waking up at 545.

Is this mostly just a wait and see what my body is like kind of thing?

For what it's worth, also, I just checked my temp again (orally) and it was 97.68, and when I woke at 545 it was 97.52

If you're interested... chart I know it's not much to work with. I think the temperatures are really screwing with my head.

your link is broken.

i have always gotten really erratic temps orally. I check vaginally and get more consistent numbers. Room temp doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference for me, but i am a cover bundler no matter what the temp is.

I also had to temp vaginally to get reliable numbers.

Room temp would STILL effect my temps but not to as big of an extent.

Yes, if you are cold when you wake up, your BBT will be different than if you are hot when you wake up. But it shouldn't be off by such a huge amount that it throws off your chart... and if you consistently wake up hot or consistently cold... it will be even more reliable.

For me, room temp does not matter. Sometimes getting up doesn't even matter. But time of day does. If I temp a hour earlier or later, my temp totally goes up or down accordingly.

To share your chart link, go to "sharing" on the left hand side, then "Home Page Setup." There is a link at the top of that page that you can cut and paste. Here's what mine looks like: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/29b7ff

I think I'm going to just have to stop temping orally. I think I'm also going to try and sleep with the window closed. It's going to get warm outside soon, anyway, so I might as well start now, before next cycle starts.

When I wake up cold or warm, it's not shivering, or sweating, though. I sleep in shorts and a tank, or nakey :p , but never feel like I need to take anything off or put anything on. I guess it's a good thing I decided to start out mid cycle. That way next cycle I'll have everything perfected already. Well, honestly I hope there ISN'T a next cycle, but getting it on the first try seems highly unlikely. I'm honestly wondering if I even O.

Thanks for you're help. I've gotten a lot of help just from the search feature, too. This is a great site

The first link takes me to my own chart for last month for some reason and the 2nd just says hi.
anyway fwiw i don't think room temp makes any difference my temps are going up even though it's not been as warm in the morning when i temp.

That link worked!

Yeah your temps look erratic, but that is totally normal for people just beginning to temp and mouth-breathers who temp orally.

I would have to say if you are indeed post-O there is a very obvious need for you to start temping vaginally next cycle as a temp in the 96 range post-O is not a good sign (but if your vaginal temps are all good, it merely means you are probably a mouth-breather like me)

This charting stuff has me so lost. I just had some definite EWCM and have been crampy all day. I've been checking and I could have sworn things were more firm and lower, even this morning...yet I just check and sure enough its up there and softer. Bleh! We've been timing g it every couple days anyway so I hope we catch it regardless. This is so confusing.
