For a class of kindergarteners, I'd think 15 minutes might be too long unless you have some sort of picture book to read to them. Google search yielded this, among others: http://beeskneesbooks.blogspot.com/2...folk-tale.html Maybe show some pictures of traditional Hungarian dress, some important places, etc. taken from the internet if need be. If you know some of the language, teach them hello and goodbye, please and thank you, etc. If you know an easy, not-too-messy recipe, maybe you can bring in a Hungarian snack for the day.

 

• Do you have a map of Hungary?
• What is the food policy at the school? Could you bring in a Hungarian treat?
• Are there any traditional crafts you did with you parents?
• How about Hungarian holidays (like is the an equivalent to the 4th of July or El 5 de Mayo?)
• Interesting traditions done a celebrations like weddings?

 

Oh, you guys are great to provide me with some direction!

I can teach them a few words, that would be easy! I also have some nice coffee table books I could bring in, and show them pictures of Hungary, of the folk traditional costume, dancing, etc.

I won't have time to find a book, because it's on Wednesday, but also because it would have to be in French.

Definitely going to look into bringing in a treat, there are no allergies in the class, and no school restrictions except for peanuts and tree nuts.

The holiday idea is great, it got me thinking that in Hungary you don't celebrate birthdays, you celebrate name days. I can get the list and tell kids when their name day is.

Will think about crafts, but nothing coming to mind.

Flag mAking is always a good craft, and that way they'll have something to take home. You can bring sticks and construction paper. Or instead you could print out a flag for them to color.

Also if you know any children's songs, you can teach them it.
