Im not sure which benifits you mean ...but my dd and ds both get medicaid and wic and they arent fully vaxed. my dd didnt get any vaxes until after 2yr and she still got wic and medicaid. im in NC also. I dont see why you would need to be. Medicaid sends a reminder for kids to take them to well child check ups and get shots....but its not like they make you. at least not yet!!

 

I am applying for SSI for DS2 and they didn't ask about vaccinations.

The gov. can't require you to do ANYTHING... they can't limit your benefits or takethem away either if you don't vax.

They CAN AND WILL give you a hard time about it, and threaten, but just whip out your handy dandy exemption form (write your own letter) and ask them (and their docs and nurses) to sign it saying your dc will have no harm from vax... if they sign it, well, uhm.. they are personally liable and won't sign.

I would assume they can't require you to vax your kids to recieve benefits. If you have a religious exemption form and say it's against your religious beliefs to vax your children and they deny you benefits then that's religious discrimination. It is, after all, your freedom of religion. They would be setting themselves up for one huge lawsuit. Even if they told me I had to vax to recieve benefits I would making a HUGE fuss about it. They can't deny you because of that. At least, not legally.
