Probably a dumb question cause what else do people really put in a sippy besides whatever. DD is too young for this anyway but just thinking ahead. I know i have read debates about siggs not being safe to use with acidic beverages, but is kleen kanteen ok.

Well i guess my questions are
A - is it ok to put acidic beverages in these containers

B - which do you like best Kleen kantee, sigg or born free sippy?

I went to go get DD a Kleen Kanteen sippy just for fun and they were like 25$ wow for a sippy? The gerber ones are like 5 bucks haha of course one more thing for DH to call me psycho hippie about

Now that I think about it, the taste of anything other than water changes dramatically when I leave it in my son's kleen kanteen for more than a few hours (even chamomile tea). I do love it, though, because it is a great shape for teaching him how to hold things and also his water doesn't end up tasting like plastic.

I'm almost positive that Siggs are fine with juice (I just bought some), and that KK are not.

How about Foogo? I think that's what I'm going with for ds when he's older.

Oh, we put water in our sippy cups (for dd), sometimes milk (she's not nursing anymore), and sometimes smoothies.

(I just read that Foogo sippy cups are made in China...I know Klean Kanteens are too. I may just stick with the Sigg now)

I originally was going to go with sigg because that's what me and dh use and the designs are way cute

but i read that they do not disclose what the inside of the bottle is actually made of or something.

Also I like the sippy top that kleen kanteen has as oposed to the sigg but im not sure about it. Is the sigg harder to learn to suck on for bfing babies?

How old should they be when they start using them anyway? I was thinking of letting DD play with one with a bit of water in it while we eat because she is grabbing for our food but i want to hold back on the solids

Sigg doesn't tell what's in the cups. IMO they are a reputable company. I like that they are Swiss made, not MIC. So that helps my decision. The sigg tops (the kid ones) aren't spillproof at all. They just pour out. So that's not that great for a baby. The KK tops are Avent sippy tops. As for age, if you are just letting them play around, I don't know that it matters. I won't be giving my ds water to actually drink for a while, but to play with in a cup, I think that's fine.
