i have a bunch of wool and dont know what to do with it but i want to use it- i am a beginner knitter. i was wondering if i made it into washcloths would they work right? has anyone done it?

Why not use it for hotpads? That way if they did felt it wouldn't be bad...in fact might be a bit better since it adds that thickness. Knittingpatterncentral.com has a section on hotpads in their patterns area.

I wouldn't recommend wool washcloths... in addition to what the others have posted, the washcloths would take AGES to dry out, and depending on whether you alternate wash cloths or not, they may never dry out. It could be kinda stinky after awhile...

Felt pads are good, even oven mitts. Wool is a good insulator, so stuff that would protect objects from heat is good. Tea cozies maybe?
