I have red blotches on my right breast, and it's tender. My left breast is also tender.

I've called my MW, who will be here tomorrow for my 6 wk pp check, and she said, hot water and massage...lots of fluid and tylonel is ok for pain...

IS there anything else I should do? Should I pump the side dd doesn't feed from, or is there an herb or something I can buy to help me get past this with out getting too sick?!

for mastits my mw recommends goldenseal tincture.
if it gets bad - 60 drops every 4 hours. when it gets better - 60 drops 3 times a day.
it is strong, but I diluted it with orange juice. not a full glass - just enough for me to swallow 2-3 times. then drink water.
I also took propolis, garlic and lots of vit. C (my mw says they are all OK for bf).
+ taylenol for fever (mine got very very high).

nurse as frequently as you can.

and only use warmth on your breast right before a feeding. you can try warm compress, them massage then feed. but do not use heat after the feeding. actually, cold would be better to help with the inflammation.
