I'm curious what the deal is with Maximum heart rate? What would happen if I went over it? Is it even possible to go over it? Wouldn't your heart rate just adjust and therefore your maximum heart rate increase? Or would it just top out?
I'm only curious because I've started running, which jets my heart rate up there more than pretty much any other cardio machine out there (I'm working on breathing techniques to hopefully help improve that). So when I'm sprinting I am sure my HR is in the 180's, perhaps even the upper 180's (I have tried measuring it when I slow back to a jog, but it drops drastically fast). I think 189 is my "maximum heart rate", so just curious if my chest is going to explode one day because I tried to sprint too fast or something.
