...Besides caffine (is that even natural?)

I am a relatively new mom to a 7 monther, so I should have the hang of things, right?

I'm exhausted/no energy today and my body doesn't do well with caffine. Any other alternatives you can think of that boosts energy?

Um, I stay away from processed sugar and white flours, I eat small, frequent meals, and I try to keep a good balance of complex carbs and healthy proteins. Usually, excepting a lack of sleep, I am most exhausted by a lack of exercise and low blood sugar!

Immediately? I'd try vitamin C and some good veggies fresh from the garden with maybe some peanut butter or a handful of nuts, or some kind of quick protein. Then if the sun is out, I'd go for a walk--sometimes being away from all the things that aren't getting done helps a ton, too!

Where can I get Kombucha locally? (Oregon)

I'll look it up if need be. Just curious though.

-Water
-Tablespoon of honey
-Electrolytes. (many ways to get this - you can get them in capsules at the HFS, and also something called Recharge)
-Multimineral supplement
-Protein

And if you need a quick rush you can always have something with high carbs, like a smoothie. I try to balance it with protein powder to keep myself from crashing.

As a side note - if you are a new mom and just feeling completely wiped out - I mean exhaustion down to your bones, you may want to think about getting your thyroid levels checked. Thyroiditis is very common in the first year postpartum.

There are 2 HFS where I live that sell Kombucha in the cold/bottled drinks section. Whole Foods is one of them. The brand is GT's and it comes in many different flavors. I tried Grape yesterday and it was good. I also like the one with guava juice in it. Its got natural B vitamins and good bacteria. It gives me a boost too. I was going to suggest kombucha but saw someone already did.

ETA: you can make your own kombucha but you've got to get a SCOBY from someone. Check the TF forum for SCOBYs - they can be mailed.

Try getting more iron. I was having the same issues when DS was about the smae age & I found that we had used up my iron stores & I needed to replenish them. There is a wonderful product called Floridix that has done wonders for me!!!
