So, my shipment of supplies is on its way from OSDS!!

In the meantime, I bought a bunch of microfiber towels from Walmart (heard they were good for stuffing pockets), and was planning on making some soakers out of them (covering them with flannel receiving blanket scraps).
But, when I looked at the DD pocket instructions, it looks like they have some different shapes -- one looks like an hourglass (goes wide-narrow-wide), one looks like a thermometer (think 'bulb' on the bottom) and then there is one that is simply 4.5" wide by 15" long, w/no contours at all.
What shape do folks like the best? Is one preferred for boys over girls, or for overnight (tummy vs back sleepers)?
