I'm asking for advice how to pull this off.
Basically dd's original bday plans fell thru. Her bday is the 28th of June and her three best friends had to go out of town for different reasons. I was going to take six kids to a local amusement park for it. (Her idea) I had given her a party budget and so instead of having her party she used it responsibly replacing her cell phone and getting some school clothes which I had to do anyway.
BUT that didn't work out and dd cancelled it. She is very sad about it though. Saying she doesn't want a party but I think it's really more hurt feelings that her friends couldn't be here.
Can't do it July 4th weekend because same problem, everyone goes out of town or wants to spend time with their families.
The next weekend is my son's bday and sil's baby shower.
SO I was thinking of doing it the weekend of July 18th so her best friends can come.
I texted them and they said they would help me. Her bff had already made a party guest list and some plans with her.
I am not telling the other two kids.
Where I am struggling is where should I do it?
I was thinking either at a local park and having a cookout which would be boys and girls OR maybe getting a hotel room at a place like Coco Keys and having a sleepover with the same 5 or 6 girls. I don't know.
Having it here is not an option because our place is sooo cramped.
Anyhow, what do you think? How do you pull off a successful suprise bday party for a teenager? Do you think a teenager would mind? I think since I have her best friend's help it might actually work out. I don't know. She had a suprise party before at 12 and she loved that so I don't think she will mind.
