Swollen glands in neck and maybe groin

I'm panicking now....

My 11 month old has what appears to be a swollen gland in his neck and I think one in his groin. I noticed a lump when I was changing him and tried to see if he had one on the other side too or if it was just one. I wasn't sure if it was just his bones- if that makes sense.

He is so wriggly I couldn't really examine him properly. The one under his jaw is the same side as the one on his groin.

He seems fine. Happy, nursing, eating and sleeping.

I called the Dr and they want to check him out. I called dh who says that he is just fighting something and as he has no symptoms of being sick I shouldn't worry.

Of course I am worrying. It is three hours till I go in. He is napping right now so I can't even go and look again...

Anyone got any suggestions? Of course dh is out of the country for 2 weeks...

I went to the Dr. He thought he was probably ok, but did a blood test just to be sure.

I called up for the results from the lab so I could go to bed with peace of mind. Only to be told his platelets are high.

Normal is 150-400. His were 430.

So now I have to wait till the morning to talk to the Dr. Of course I am worried sick. I've tried researching it, but not getting far...

I found this article about lymph nodes:

I don't know if you've seen it already but I found it interesting. I hope you're able to get answers from your doc first thing tomorrow morning, I'll be thinking of you!
(also I think doctors usually call if there is something serious going on so the fact you haven't heard from him should be good news?)

No need to panic yet... swollen lymph nodes only mean that your DS's immune system is doing its job and is fighting off whatever has invaded his body. If he's acting fine, that's a good indication that his immune system is doing it well!!

I would just continue to nurse as much as you can.. and rest, if possible.
