Kellymom.com says to use caution with vitamin A and E. They are fat soluble and can get concentrated in milk to harmful amounts.

Quote:
* Most mineral supplements (e.g., iron, calcium, copper, chromium, zinc) taken by the mother do not affect breastmilk levels.
* Water soluble vitamin supplements (e.g., B vitamins, vitamin C) taken by the mother usually increase breastmilk levels. Breastmilk levels of some water soluble vitamins, such as vitamin C, only increase up to a certain point, then remain steady - even if mom increases her dose.
* Fat soluble vitamin supplements (e.g., vitamins A & E) taken by the mother can concentrate in human milk, and thus excessive amounts may be harmful to a breastfeeding baby.
* The safety of herbs and other nutritional supplements should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis - some are safe and some are not.

That vitamin E amount is way overkill. I'm taking a Pre/Post Natal multivitamin/mineral supplement and it only has 60 IU of vit E.

My multivitamin is by Twinlab: dr greene, if you are interested. I take 2 per day, one with breakfast and one with dinner. I've been using it since shortly after my boy was born and have had no issues with my milk supply and I'm on birth control, which I was told would lower my supply. Also, my boy is healthier than I am. I caught a cold this winter and he caught it, but he was over it way before I was and his symptoms were much milder.

I hope this was helpful.
