Ok, I think DH and I have pretty much decided to give "eccentric homeschooling" a try. (Although I REALLY hate labels)
But where do we start? What I have done:
Plugged into a local HS co-op that seams to be right on point with what I want but meets 1/week. (so excited about this)
Started looking around on here about curriculum vs. no curriculum and I'm just getting more confused about where to start. I'd like to start doing some basic things now, don't really want a curriculum until at least next year. I am taking her out of a 3 day a week pre-school and she already knows a great deal IMO. Like some Math, some Spanish, writes name and all letters pretty well, can count pretty high, days of week, things like that. She shows a big interest in math and spanish and has an expressed interest in wanting to learn to read but when we start going over sounds and the basics she gets bored and wants to stop. Like she just wants to know how to read and doesn't want to go through the process of learning. At least the way we were trying to show her..
So, I guess were would I start? I love that she is interested in so much but I feel as though I need some guidance in how to direct it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking to push her into anything but rather allowing her to lead in what she wants to learn, I just need to know where to take it. TIA!!
